For public companies, Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 requires management and external auditors to attest to the effectiveness of the corporation’s internal controls on a quarterly and annual basis, respectively. A comprehensive framework is required to insure that each aspect of the regulations is properly addressed. And it is not enough to be merely compliant with the SOA; the CEO and CFO need to be able to demonstrate that their company is in compliance.
